Administration
Dr. Apolonia Renteria serves the students at Resaca Middle School as Principal. Dr. Renteria has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2022. Her career in public education began in 2009. During her time in education, Dr. Renteria has served as a middle school Science teacher, a counselor, an assistant principal, and has been principal at Resaca Middle School since 2022.
Dr. Renteria attended Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Bachelor of Science Degree, and a Master of Science Degree. In 2020, Dr. Renteria received her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University of Kingsville.
Belsa Altamirano serves the students at Resaca Middle School as Assistant Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. She has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2013. During her career in public education that began in 2013, she has served as a teacher and administrator. Prior to her current role, she was Instructional Officer/Assistant Principal at Las Yescas Elementary since 2018. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UTB and her Master of Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
Ms. Patricia K. Hernandez serves the students at Resaca Middle School as the Dean of Instruction for the 2025-2026 school year. Ms. Hernandez has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2013. During her career in public education that began in 2010, Ms. Hernandez has served as a secondary mathematics teacher. Prior to her current role, she was at Los Fresnos United and served as a secondary mathematics teacher, head girls varsity soccer coach and teacher leader since 2013. Ms. Hernandez received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2010 and her Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in 2020. Ms. Hernandez is deeply passionate about mathematics education and committed to fostering high levels of student achievement. She believes in the power of collaboration to drive instructional excellence across all content areas and works diligently to support teachers and students through data-driven practices. With a strong dedication to serving the students of LFCISD, Ms. Hernandez strives to create learning environments where every student can succeed and reach their full potential.
Mr. Alfredo Uriegas serves the students at Resaca Middle School as Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Uriegas has been a part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2022. His career in public education began in Austin ISD, where he served as a bilingual and dual language 4th-6th grade teacher for 11 years. Prior to his current role, he was a 5th grade bilingual teacher at Villareal Elementary School in Los Fresnos CISD from 2022-2023. Mr. Uriegas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
Mr. Uriegas is originally from Brownsville and lives with his wife and daughter at their small farm. He enjoys hanging out with his family and friends, loves to go fishing, and traveling to new places throughout the summer.
