Our School

Resaca Middle School is located on FM 1575 just north of Texas Highway 100 in the cluster of the district’s three oldest campuses. The building served jointly as the district’s intermediate and high school for a seven-year period.

 

Resaca, which opened in 1955 as Los Fresnos Junior High, is adjacent to Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium. Additions were made to the school in 1977, 1985, and 2000.

 

RMS houses about 870 students in grades 6 to 8. Olmito, Rancho Verde and Villareal elementary schools served as feeder schools to RMS. The school mascot is Gators and the principal is Apolonia Renteria, Ed.D..

*School day begins at 8:20 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. There are seven periods throughout the school day.

*We provide breakfast and lunch for all our students

*No lockers are issued out (except for PE)
 
*6th graders may Not participate in Athletic UIL sanctioned games
 
*Our uniform is mandatory: khaki or navy pants/shorts or skirt and a dark (forest) green collared shirt. Jeans may be worn only on Spirit Days with a Gator or Falcon shirt. All shirts must be tucked in and pants must be worn around the waist with a belt.
 
*LFCISD has launched the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative to allow students to bring their electronic devices to class for academic use under teacher supervision.
 
*Students must submit excused re-entries for any full or partial absence (even if it’s just one period).
 
*Parents please adhere to student Drop-off and Pick-up zone(s). We want to ensure student safety at all times.
 
*All visitors must sign-in in the front office (No exceptions)
 
*Backpacks Do Not have to be mesh or clear
