completed & on file before season practices.
Student athletes it is YOUR
responsibility to check your grades
 to be eligible to participate in sports.
Eligibility will be checked.

Boys Basketball

8th Grade "A"
Our gators took on the Cougars of Los Cuates last Thursday January 10
th at the high school main gym for an inner-city matchup.  Our gators came out shooting the lights out in the 1st quarter finishing this quarter with a score of 2-30 gators on top of the cougars.  At halftime, score was 14-43.  Gator defense was aggressive and their offense was equally the same.  Final score for this game was, 34-72 gators over the Cougars.  Leading scorer for the gators was Gerry Martinez with an astonishing 45 points.  Our gators will be taking on the Patriots this Thursday at the high school in the main gym.  Good luck to our gators this week!  


7th A-team:

Congratulations goes out to the Gator 7th Grade boy’s basketball “A Team” for defeating the Los Cuates Cougars 30-16 in their basketball game last Thursday.  After a slow start and facing adversity of being down 9 points, the Mighty Gator defense caused some turnovers, which led to easy points.  At the end of the first quarter, the Gators came back to cut the Cougar lead to 3 points.  As the second quarter started, right out of the gate, the Gators applying their signature pressure defense got the lead and never looked back.  The Gators scored 10 points in the second quarter and did not allow the Cougars to score in the entire quarter.  Scoring for the Gators was Diego Gomez, Antonio Vasquez, and Izaiah Garcia with 2 points, Alex Rodriguez chipped in 4 points and 7 rebounds, Ruben Cuellar dropped 6 points with 5 steals and leading the way for the Gators was Dante Delgado with 14 points 8 rebounds and 5 steals.  Our boys next game will be next Thursday against Liberty Memorial at Los Fresnos High School back gym come out and support our student athletes.  Coach Santa Ana would like to thank Mr. Korab for helping out and all of the staff and student body who came out to support our boys..  Gooo Gators!!!

 

Girls Basketball

8th A-team:


The 8th Grade Lady Gators played against Los Cuates and fell short by 6 points with a score of 43-37. Leading scorers were Cassandra Sanchez 9 points, Cory Reyes and Katie Cantu 7 points each, Viviana Uresti 6 points, Abril Esquivel and Jovanna Balboa each with 4 points.  Great game ladies, keep your heads up!!  We now must focus on the Lady Patriots next week.  

 

 


8th B-team:

Way to GO Lady Gators!!!! Our 8th grade "B" team Basketball girls took the WIN against Berta Cabaza on Tuesday night's game with a final score of 26-19. It was a close game but the girls worked really hard as a team to stay on top. Our top scorer with 10 points was Iliana Aguilar. Let's keep working hard & prepare for our next game against Cuates.   


 

7th A-team:

Congratulations to your 7thgrade A team girls for their win versus the Lady Patriots!  Score was 22-16.  The girls played a great game, they hustled out on the court and never gave up!  Top scorers of the night were Shiloh Jones with 8 points, Valerie Prezalini with 6 points, and Addyson Vega with 4 points.   Coach Mendoza is very proud of you all, keep up the great work!  Thank you teachers for coming out to support our girls, they appreciated it!  Our next game will be at Riverside next week at 5:30.  Please come out and support your Lady Gators!  


7th B-team:

Congratulations to the 7th grade Lady Gators Basketball "B" team for their 26-5 win on Tuesday night's game against Berta Cabaza! Our top scorers were:  Allison Oviedo with 8 pts, Natalia Chavez added another 6 , Georgina and Mia Quintanilla with 4 pts each, and Stephanie Ruiz and Aly Arellano scored another 2 pts each!

 

Tennis

Boys Soccer

On a hot Saturday morning, the Gator boys sweated out a shootout win over Liberty. After a hard-fought 50 minutes, the game was still deadlocked 0-0 at the end of regulation.  After two saves and a goal from Diego Moreno, as well as goals from Jose Ortiz and Javier Rodriguez, Alan Oviedo gave Resaca the victory with the game-winning goal past the Liberty goalkeeper with a final score of 4-2 in the penalty kick shootout. Winners of three games in a row, the Gators close out the regular season against Riverside on Saturday morning at 10 AM before their tournament which will take place in Harlingen.

 

 

 

 

Girls Soccer

Congratulations to our Lady Gators soccer team that played at Liberty Middle School on Saturday.  They played with determination and remained focus throughout the game.  It was a great team effort that resulted on another victory.  America Guerra scored 3 goals for the team.  Nataly Garcia scored 1 and Erin Encinia scored 1.  Final score was 5-1.  Congratulations Lady Gators!!  Our girls will face Riverside this Saturday at the Los Cuates field behind Los Cuates at 9:00a.m.  Please come out and support!!!
